The Science of Dry: Membrane Technology

The core of our range features micro-porous membrane technology, such as GORE-TEX and proprietary Drystar laminates. These materials contain billions of microscopic pores per square inch—each 20,000 times smaller than a water droplet but 700 times larger than a water vapour molecule. This allows perspiration to escape during high-output riding in Taranaki's humidity while preventing external moisture from penetrating the fabric.

Material Durability & Hydrostatic Head Ratings

We prioritise gear with high hydrostatic head ratings (measured in mm), ensuring that even under the pressure of 100km/h winds and heavy road spray, the fabric integrity holds. Our selection includes:

  • Ripstop Polyamide & Cordura®: High-denier outer shells that provide abrasion resistance alongside water-shedding capabilities.
  • Heat-Taped Seams: Every internal junction is thermally sealed to eliminate the "wicking" effect common in standard stitched garments.
  • YKK® Aquaguard® Zippers: Polyurethane-laminated fastenings that act as a secondary seal against water ingress at critical entry points.

Aerodynamics & Ergonomic Fit

Technical gear must perform at speed. Our waterproof oversuits are engineered with multi-point adjustment systems at the biceps, waist, and ankles to prevent high-speed "buffeting."
